CASE 178
Hammer manufacturing and hard welding
The Challenge
Hammers must be replaced at a certain frequency and cause plant downtime.
- As the wear of the hammers increases, the crushing quality decreases and the energy consumption per broken ton increases.
- Customer wants longer service life and more consistent crushing quality.
The Solution
According to the wear parameters (material to be broken, composition of the material, humidity level, presence of foreign material, such as stones, ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials), an appropriate wear-resistant alloy is selected and the hammers are provided with this in the wear-sensitive places.
Production profits
By applying an appropriate coating to the wear-sensitive areas:
- the hammerlife is increased significantly (in this case x 5)
- the quality remains under control for a longer period of time
- the energy bill per ton decreases significantly (-17%).
